Highlights: Brisbane Heat's Brendon McCullum slays Rebels attack in narrow Big Bash loss

  • 21/01/2017

Brisbane Heat captain Brendon McCullum put on the second fastest half-century in Big Bash history for his Brisbane side before falling victim to some testing conditions.

McCullum, who contributed a quickfire 64 off 40 balls - with his first 50 coming from just 18 deliveries - succumbed to heatstroke in the 11th over, collapsing and vomiting next to the pitch, and departed soon afterwards.

Chasing 200 to win, the former Blackcap's team were beaten on the final ball as the Melbourne Renegades claimed victory by a solitary run to keep their finals hopes alive.

The sell-out crowd of 35,112 set a new record for domestic cricket at the Gabba.
