Video: Breakers star Kevin Dillard responds to 'He was talking sh*t' comments

New Zealand Breakers point guard Kevin Dillard has responded to the comments of Illawarra Hawks Rob Beveridge.

Beveridge was not pleased with Dillard's antics during the Breakers 95-86 win over the Hawks in Wollongong on Friday night.

"He was talking sh*t, simple as that," Beveridge said.

"In all my time as a coach that's never happened to me. That was totally disrespectful. The guy's gotta learn some damn manners.

"I spoke to him about it after the game so hopefully he realises you've gotta have a little bit of manners in this league. I don't know if his parents would be overly happy with the way he treated an adult."

The Breakers arrived back in Auckland on Saturday with Dillard saying Beveridge took what he said out of context.

"I hit a shot and after the shot I said 'god dam that's tough," said Dillard.

If he took it derogatory or anything like that I apologize for that but I think saying how tough a shot was would be disrespectful.

"I bet he wouldn't have a problem if I hit that shot for his team."

The Breakers will be seeking their fourth straight win on Sunday night when they host the Perth Wildcats in a rematch of last year's grand-final.

Dillard is hoping the Breakers can continue their good form in a crucial match.

"I hope the crowd gives us an extra boost because we are still in a position where we need wo win all our games," said Dillard.

"Tomorrow is huge cause of tight everything is in the rankings. It will be a big statement game for us."

Dillard has played four games for the Breakers since joining the squad and is averaging 22.75 points, 5.25 assists and 2.50 steals per game
