Video: 'rejuvenated' Ish Sodhi hopes to continue incredible form in New Zealand

New Zealand legspinner Ish Sodhi had a night to remember as he helped the Adelaide Strikers crush the Sydney Thunder by 77-runs in the Australian Big Bash.

Sodhi took six wickets while only conceding 11 runs.  His haul is the second best in Big Bash history, surpassed only by Lasith Malinga's six wickets for seven runs in 2012.

The 24-year old was very pleased with his incredible performance and said postgame he felt 'rejuvenated.'

"I can't fault my individual performance, but I wish I did more in my first two games here," said Sodhi.

"I never really expected myself to take five, let alone six in a T20 ever so the fact I did that is pretty pleasing."

Sodhi will be returning to New Zealand tomorrow and will play against Central Districts in the Ford Trophy match at Seddon Park on Sunday as the Strikers having failed to make the playoffs.

Despite dominating in the T20, Sodhi is hoping he can stamp his mark on the longer formats of the game as he has more 'passion' to succeed in the longer forms of the game.

"It will be interesting heading back home having played in front of 40,000 people and on Sunday I will probably be playing front of 20 or 30 people," said Sohdi.

"I am seen as a T20 specialist bowler at the moment but I definitely have the passion for the longer forms and I want the longer forms and feel I have a lot to offer.

"But hopefully my T20 performances will give me confidence in the longer forms of the game and it's about playing as much cricket as I can."

With his stunning performance, Sodhi could be in for a massive payday at the Indian premier auction

"Ill put my name in the heat," said Sodhi. But I don't expect too much of it but my main motive is to play for New Zealand as much as I can especially at this stage of my career.

Sodhi will have a chance to play again for New Zealand in the upcoming Chappell-Hadlee Series against Australia next month.

"Everyime a team is named you hope to see your name but I have had plenty of times where I thought I was going to be named and I wasn't," said Sodhi.

"I have to perform for Northern Districts and If I do, I will get my chance."
