Highlights: Scotland overcome Wales and Ireland edge France in Six Nations

Scotland has staged a spirited second half fight back to overcome Wales 29-13 at Murrayfield while Ireland edged France 19-9 in Dublin in a tight battle to go temporarily top of the Six Nations ladder.

In the first match of the double header on Sunday (NZ time), both Scotland and Wales looked intent on playing fast-paced rugby which paid off after Wales scored the opening try to Liam Williams in the 23rd minute following a quick tap from halfback Rhys Webb.

Despite going behind 13-9 at halftime, the fearless Scots continued to throw caution to the wind in the second half which paid off with Tommy Seymour streaking down the right touchline in the 44th minute.

The home side then attacked the left touchline with Tim Visser sealing the deal in the 67th minute.

In a less entertaining encounter at Dublin's Aviva Stadium, France seemed to have a lot of the ball and a lot of the play but were suffocated by a stringently structured Irish team.

Scoring through Conor Murray in the first half, the visitors were unable to make any headway against a fierce Irish defence with South African-born flanker CJ Stander once again leading the way.

Ireland now sit atop the Six Nations table on 10 points while Scotland, with their best return from three matches in recent memory, sit just below them on nine.

England will be fancied to regain top spot when they face Italy on Monday (NZ time).
