World number six Jordan Speith has registered his first victory of the season, at the latest PGA Tour event in California while Kiwi Tim Wilkinson finished strong.

Spieth hit the lead and held onto it, winning the Pebble Beach Pro-Am by four shots, finishing on -19 after a two under par fourth round.

It is Spieth's ninth PGA Tour victory.

Wilkinson finished on four under after a final round 70, tying for 39th.

The result belies his tournament performance with Wilkinson in the hunt midway through the tournament. However a third round 74 meant the Palmerston North native was on the back foot in the fourth round.

Fellow Kiwis Steve Alker and Danny Lee struggled at the tournament with the former failing to make the cut while the Lee withdrew in the first round.
