Video: Former Blackcap Grant Elliott hits six to win Pakistan Super League match, drops bat

Former Blackcaps international Grant Elliott has never been one to shy from the occasion, and he's risen to it once again for his Pakistan Super League Twenty20 side in Sharjah on Tuesday morning (NZ time).

With Elliott's Lahore Qalanders needing six runs off the final five balls against Islambad United, the man known affectionately as 'the hairy javelin' launched Pakistani quick Mohammad Sami into the stands to seal the win and send commentator Danny Morrison into hysterics.

It was a near identical shot to the one he so famously hit off the penultimate ball of New Zealand's semi-final against South Africa to send New Zealand into their first ever Cricket World Cup final back in 2015.

The one thing missing on that balmy Auckland night? The ultimate 'bat drop'.

Elliott finished with 26 runs, with his former captain Brendon McCullum managing just 11 at the top of the order.
