Video: Tana Umaga insists the Blues still have plenty to work on

Blues coach Tana Umaga is not getting too carried away following their massive 56-18 win over the Melbourne Rebels in their opening match of the Super Rugby Season.

The Blues ran in seven tries to destroy the hapless Rebels, but Umaga insists they still have plenty to work on as the season progresses.

The Blues struggled at the beginning of the match but as the game progressed they gained confidence, and went onto outscore the Rebels 31-3 in the second half.

"Obviously, it's just the first game of the season and there's still a lot of things to work on," said Umaga.

"But the pleasing thing for us is that we stayed in the fight and we came out the other end with the rewards.

"Our ability to come back and gain some composure and trust our systems we've been working hard on was a positive… there were a lot of nerves at the start, and the Rebels were really fired up.

"But we're happy with the way we came back, and that's something we've worked on."

Hamilton to face the Chiefs, but Umaga isn't guaranteeing anything.

"The tough thing for us is having to fit them all in.

"He realizes that he got the first opportunity. And so you can see that he's driven to make sure that he holds onto his spot and you'd think that he's done it for another week."

The win for the Blues was their biggest ever win in Australia, and their first ever at AAMI Park.
