The White Ferns has clinched their T20 series against Australia 2-1 with a stunning 47-run win at Adelaide Oval.

Starting well with Suzie Bates plundering almost a run-a-ball 31, the White Ferns were cruising at 69-2 off 12 overs before a mid-order collapse saw them lose 2-4 in just six balls. Some hard work in the lower order saw them finish their allotted 20 overs but restricted to 113.

Australia's batting line-up faltered from almost the first ball with Lea Tahuhu claiming Beth Mooney with the fourth ball of the over.

Some tight bowling and very good fielding was combined with some poor batting as Australia were reduced to 9-5 off five overs, cruelling any chance of victory for the Aussies.

Bowled out for 66, it was Australia's lowest T20 total with the previous lowest being 73 all out against New Zealand in 2010. Suzie Bates was named the player of the series.

The White Ferns will now return to Auckland to play Australia in a best-of-three one-day series, starting on Sunday.
