A keenly sought after clash between the All Blacks and England has been doused according to media reports out of the UK.

The Daily Mail suggests that World Rugby is set to announce that they're sticking with the Barbarians v All Blacks clash on November 4 as was originally planned.

With England on the cusp of breaking the All Blacks world record of consecutive tier one Test wins before falling to Ireland in Dublin, public pressure as well as pressure from the RFU saw the carrot of a Twickenham Test on New Zealand's end of year tour dangled - a match that would pit the world number one ranked side against the second.

After claiming its second straight Six Nations, England coach Eddie Jones was also keen to see the match take place.

If it was to happen, the match was to replace the November 4 Barbarians clash against the All Blacks, a match which had importance of its own with the Baabaas celebrating their 125th year as an invitational rugby team.

Importantly, it would also fall outside the November Test window for England, meaning the players would have to seek permission from their individual domestic unions, something that would not come easily.
