Kiwi Steven Adams has put up monster numbers for the Oklahoma City Thunder, as they beat the Sacramento Kings 110-94, picking up their fifth-straight win on Sunday (NZT).

Adams collected his 14th double-double of the season as he finished with 16 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and two steals in 35 minutes.

It was his first double-double since February 27.

Thunder superstar Russell Westbrook missed out on his fifth-straight triple-double, but finished with a game-high 28 points, along with 10 assists and eight rebounds, while Doug McDermott scored 21 points off the bench.

The 28-year old still needs seven more triple-doubles in Oklahoma City's final 13 games to tie Oscar Robertson for the NBA single-season record, set in the 1961-62 season.

The Kings led early through the first quarter, but a 11-0 spurt put the Thunder in front and they never looked back - taking a 29-19 lead after the first quarter.

The home side extended their lead to 22 at the break, leading 63-41. The Kings closed the deficit to 14 in the fourth quarter but they never got any closer as the Thunder coasted to victory.

Kings rookie centre Georgios Papagiannis top scored for his side with 14 points, and said post game, Steven Adams is the strongest player he has even faced.

"He's a really physical player. I have never played against a player that strong."

With the win, the Thunder move into fifth place in the Western conference with a 40-29 record.

The Thunder's next match is a home clash against the Western Conference-leading Golden State Warriors on Tuesday (NZ time).

The Thunder have not beaten Golden State this season, losing all three games.
