Video: Iguana invades court and stops play at Miami Open

  • 24/03/2017

An iguana briefly brought a halt to a men's singles match at the Miami Open.

Play was suspended in the game between Tommy Haas and Jiri Vesely when the cheeky reptile decided to peek over the scoreboard and check out the score.

Vesely was annoyed by the umpire's decision to stop play, but Haas took advantage of the rare situation by taking selfies with the unusual visitor.

After a brief moment, an attempt to capture the iguana was made - but it went horribly wrong.

After a person tried to nab the reptile by grabbing its tail, the little fella made its escape.

To finish his show, our scaly friend then climbed to the top of the opposite scoreboard and again made himself at home at his courtside seat.
