Blackcaps quick Mitchell McClenaghan was the chief destroyer for the Mumbai Indians taking 3-24 from his four overs as his side held-off Delhi by 12 runs.

The Daredevils won the toss and elected to field, restricting Mumbai to 8-142 from their 20 overs.

Australian paceman Pat Cummins (2-20) and Amit Mishra (2-20) did the damage with the ball and bowled with economy as English opener Jos Buttler top-scored with just 28.

Mitchell Johnson was stranded at the crease on 7 when the innings came to a close.

An early run out for Delhi was compounded by 3 wickets in two overs for the Kiwi, as the Daredevils were reduced to 24-6, before recovering to 128 off their 20 overs but falling short of the 143 needed for victory.
