Video: Jacko Gill making successful recovery from latest injury

Kiwi shot putter Jacko Gill's rehab from injury is on track, as he targets a return to the competition circle in Europe later this year.

Gill suffered a grade two tear to his adductor muscle while training last month, ruling him out of the recent National Athletics Championships in Hamilton.

"I really wanted to compete and battle for the title but I had to look at the bigger picture," he told Newshub.

The 22-year-old is recovering well and should be fit for the start of the European season in May.

"It's starting to heal now. I've had two throwing sessions without any pain, so I'm definitely heading in the right direction," he said.

Gill spent Sunday helping young throwers at the Sola Power Throwing Academy in Lower Hutt, the same venue he threw his personal best of 21.01 metres at earlier this year.
