Video: MLB player gets hit by ball three times in one inning

Getting hit by a baseball is not good, getting hit three times is definitely no fun.

But getting hit three times in the same inning is downright rough.

That's exactly what happened to Stephen Piscotty in the fifth innings of the St Louis Cardinal game against the Chicago Cubs.

The outfielder took a Jake Arrieta pitch to the arm during his at bat, then as he tried to steal second took a thrown from the catcher to the body.

That might have been enough to make a player extra cautious but as Piscotty ran home to try and score on an infield hit , he was sconed in the head by another throw.

Piscotty stayed down and had to leave the game after taking one to the melon.

Thankfully he's been cleared of any concussion symptoms and will be back on the diamond.
