Joseph Parker's co-promoter, Bob Arum is happy to step in if the rumoured divorce between Duco co-owners Dean Lonergan and David Higgins comes to fruition.

Sources close to team Parker have told Newshub that the duo is set to announce the split in the upcoming week.

For his part, Top Rank Boxing head Arum said while he is not interested in managing the Kiwi, he is in a position to book fights for the WBO champion abroad.

"I have a contract with Duco to co-promote Parker and promote in in the US," Arum told RadioLIVE's Andrew Gourdie and Jim Kayes.

"I'm very happy to start doing fights for Parker in the US. It's important for him to fight over here."

Arum was shocked at the whispers of the Lonergan/Higgins split, noting the friendship between the two he observed while in New Zealand, for Parker's WBO title fight with Andy Ruiz Jr in 2016, was second to none.

"I've heard nothing. I thought they were joined at the hip.

"I spoke to both of them 24 hours ago and they didn't mention anything to me."

Lonergan is currently heading up the company's foray into Australia, playing a major part in getting Manny Pacquaio's upcoming WBO title fight with Jeff Horn over the line.

Duco Events has not responded to Newshub's request for comment.
