Former Kiwis captain Jesse Bromwich said he can remember very little about the night which saw him caught on CCTV snorting white powder along with teammate Kevin Proctor.

Following the Kiwis heavy 30-12 loss to the Kangaroos on May 5, the Storm prop admitted to the Sunday Herald Sun he had too much to drink, going on a seven-hour drinking session.

The 28-year old says he doesn't remember much about the night

"It's scary to blackout," said Bromwich.

"To drink so much alcohol you blackout for three or four hours but you’re out around public. Look what's happened, I didn't even know what was going on.

"I could have done something worse, I'm just thankful that didn't happen."

The prop remembers leaving the team hotel at 1am, before going clubbing. That is when he said he blacked out.

Bromwich remembers having breakfast at the team hotel at 6am and then attending the recovery session at 10am.

An hour later he got a call from Kiwis officials asking him to explain the reports of him caught on camera allegedly doing drugs, but he had no answers.

"I rang my wife [Les] straight away and she was demanding answers but I couldn't answer the questions."

Bromwich along with younger brother Kenny met Storm captain Cameron Smith at Canberra airport as the players travelled back to Melbourne and tried his best to explain the situation to a disappointed Smith.

"I just pulled him aside, tried to apologise to him.

"But it was hard for me to get the words out because I knew I had let him down.

"For me that was the worst thing that I could have done and he was disappointed."

The fallout from the saga has been tough for the 28-year old who has never put a foot wrong in his career.

"I've been here for almost 10 years (and) I have never made a mistake off the field. This is out of character for me and I don't do this (and) I definitely don't do it twice.

"(Storm) had 16 players representing six different countries so it was supposed to be a celebration.

"For me to have my name up in the negative side of the weekend was just disappointing, it's quite upsetting to be part of what's happened. I'm just disappointed in myself."

Despite the fallout, the support from Storm coach Craig Bellamy has helped Bromwich though the toughest period of his career.

"It’s the type of bloke (Bellamy) is and that's why he is such a good coach because he actually cares about his players."

"He could have been selfish and just gone off his rocket at me for putting a little dent in the club's history but he is so supportive."

Following the allegations, Bromwich was banned for two NRL matches, and donated his Test match fee to charity.

Along with Proctor, Bromwich won't be available for the Kiwis squad for the Rugby League World Cup.

"I understand the consequences as well and I'm here to take full responsibility of those."
