Clubs from France's premier rugby competition the Top 14 have lifted the lid on one of the features that makes them most attractive to southern hemisphere rugby players - the wages

According to French media, glamour clubs Toulon and Racing 92 once again headline the list as the clubs that pay its players the highest salaries, with Racing 92 just edging Toulon with an average monthly wage of NZ$53,380.

With the figures released by the clubs themselves, how do former southern hemisphere-based players compare?

As you would expect, New Zealand rugby players feature heavily in a list of the highest paid in France but interestingly enough, only two Kiwis crack the top five and three inside the top 10.
