Pablo Cueva hits spectacular trick shot winner against Alexander Zverev in Madrid

Sometimes all it takes is one moment of brilliance to turn the momentum of a match, and that's precisely what happened when Pablo Cueva struck one of the shots of the year at the Madrid Open overnight (NZ time).

After dropping the first set against German Alexander Zverev in convincing fashion, the Uruguayan chased down an overhead volley and blasted a spectacular no-look, cross-court winner past his almost bemused opponent.

The shot seemed to turn the tide for Cueva, who proceeded to romp to a 6-0 second set before closing the contest out with a 6-4 win in the third to advance to the tournament's semi-final stage.
