2017 State of Origin - Live updates: Game two, Queensland vs New South Wales

NEW SOUTH WALES: 16   QUEENSLAND: 18

Wrap: That was a fantastic second forty from the Maroons..NSW stopped playing with 20 minutes to go..Queensland got the roll on and eventually they made the Blues pay...So the script is set for JT to win another series in his final game in Brisbane in three-weeks time. Great game tonight..Thanks for your company.

Fulltime: Thats it! what a comeback from this great side against a talent stacked NSW side. Fifita, who was invisable tonight loses the ball forward and the Maroons celebrate in hostile grounds.

78mins: Blues win a short kick off..the play through the set but Gagai takes a monster bomb!! Great take from one of the best on the park tonight.

77mins:CLUTCH JT!!! - He nails it from the sideline..The Maroons up with two to go.

77mins: TRY QUEENSLAND: Dane Gagai - It was coming...Great backline play involving Slater and Boyd..Gagai gets the final pass..beats two and score close to the sideline..Thurston with the opportunity to put the Maroons up by two...

75mins: Close again for Queensland. They are throwing everything at the Blues...another great attackin set..Smith with the kick on the last..it's knocked on by Dugan..scrum 5m for the Maroons

73mins: Chance blown!!! Thurston almost breaks them open 20m out but great tackle from Dugan..on the last..it's shifted out wide..Gillet beats two but his pass to Holmes is wayward and it floats out!

71mins: Jarryd Hayne is having a Barry Crocker tonight..Pearce tries to create from inside his hald..gets a decent pass away to Hayne who drops it cold. Scrum Maroons 30m out.

70mins: Josh Dugan again..Brilliant..Great set from the Maroons..they had a chance through Cronk but he couldn't get the final pass away...Kick comes from Thurston..Dugan collects under his posts and beats three players to march out to the 30m line..Queensland surging here..10 to go.

68mins: Great return from Dugan under pressure.. The Dragons player has shifted to fullback with Tedesco off the park..makes 30m beating 5 would be tacklers

67mins: NSW defence holds up very well to that test...the set ends off the boot of Cameron Smith but it's not a great kick and Woods cleans up on his 10m line.

65mins: Huge set coming up here..penalty in great field position for the Maroons. they atack from 30m out

64mins: Standard set from the Maroons ends with a nice little kick from Thurston that finds the line. Scrum NSW on their own 10m line.

61mins: Queensland don't make that most of it..Chambers slides accross the park..should have passed to the inside man but is taking over the sideline by three Blues players..that's three or four times tonight. NSW with the ball back just inside their own half.

60mins: Queensland off the hook again with a sketchy penalty call from the referee. the Maroons in trouble bringing the ball back from their own line..Gagai drops it but it's ruled a strip.

58mins: Give yourself an uppercut Jarryd Hayne..just a ridiculous pass with two tackles up their sleave..trying to advance the ball when it wasn't needed. Maroons off the hook again as the ball floats over the sideline.

56mins: What a great kick from Pearce...Gagai makes a bit of meal of the high ball..it floats over him..he collects it in the in  goal but four Blues defenders are there to pin him in the in goal. Line drop out.

53mins: TRY QUEENSLAND - Dane Gagai - Brilliant! - Classic Queensland..Smith, Thurston and in  particular Cronk all invlolved in the movement that began on the Blues 40m line....McGuire with the initial bust and then the backs took over...the final pass is delivered by Chambers to Gagai who beats the tackle of Tedesco to score..Great try...6 missed tackles from the Blues in that movement..Thurston adds the two.

52mins: Stock standard set from the Blues..fairly poor kick from Maloney goes straight down the throat of Gagai and the Maroons get the ball back.

50mins: After struggling at the start of the half the Maroons have come back into this a bit...as I say that Gagai is monstered over the sideline on the 4th tackle by Morris and Dugan....Scrum on theor 30m line for the Blues.

49mins: Thurston doesn't look right..favouring a shoulder he hurt in the first..he seems a little gun-shy.

47mins: Nothing comes of that..great D from the Maroons..Pearce with the cross kick that Holmes takes in  goal on the full and Quennsland get a seven-tackle-set.

45mins: Another superb set from the Blues...Klemmer with two big runs on the second and fourth tackle..Wade Graham puts in a lovely kick that Slater cleans up well but it will be a line drop out.

44mins: Games on tender-hooks..next scorer is so important..Slater with a geat clean up job after a nice kick from Pearce..he almost gets away himself but is cleaned up by Frizell.

42mins: The Blues follow up with a solid set themselves..Nice high kick from Pearce and Hayne contests but he knocks it on and the Maroons have a fresh set of six inside their red zone.

41mins: Pretty vanilla set from the Maroons but it was effective..ending with a kick from the Blues 40m line. NSW ruck it out from their own 10m.

Second Half: It's going to take somethng special from the aging legends in the Maroons side to get them back into this one...but we have seen them do it before so you would be a fool to count them out. Maloney gets us underway for the second forty....are the Blues a half away from their first series win in three-years? We will see.....

Halftime: Queensland started well and scored early but NSW dominated from about minute 13-33 then the Maroons started making yards with a bit more ease. It's probably been closer than  a 10-point gap but it just feels like NSW can score from anywhere while Queensland are relying on Thurston and Cronk to create pressure.

39mins: Cooper Cronk goes super close - great tackle from Klemmer i think...last play of the half and Thurston with the run-around..gets the ball out to Morgan who hits a gap but Josh Dugan makes a brilliant tackle to hold him up over the line....huge play from the Dragons star..could be a game changer.....that'll be half time in Sydney. Great first half. Be back in 10 mins.

38mins: Queensland with their best set of the game..the get a roll on and are inside the 20m zone by the third tackle. Thurston with a lovely grubber and Tedesco runs it over the dead ball line. Last set of the half coming up.

36mins: Nothing comes of that set for the Blues..Klemmer coughs the ball up 15m out and Queensland get the ball back. Big 4 minutes coming up.

34mins: Queensland with a great set but poor ending..they march up the field but Michael Morgan loses the ball on the fourth tackle 5m out and to compound things further it's another penalty for the Blues on halfway. They go on attck 40m out.

32mins: NSW go very close..another great atacking set..the ball comes out to Hayne and he probably blew a try by taking on the defence with a man unmarked on his outside..he throws a speculator back in as he drifts over the sideline but it floats forward.

30mins: Bad news for Maroons fans..and not just the score...Thurston looks to be dealing with a sore shoulder and that is compounded by a kick out on the full by the world's best player. Blues gain possesion on halfway.

26mins: TRY NEW SOUTH WALES: Mitchell Pearce - Back to back for the Blues...Brilliant pass from Trbojevic..finds Tedesco who steams through the middle..draws Slater and Pearce runs away from Boyd to stretch the Blues lead. Maloney adds the two.

24mins: TRY NEW SOUTH WALES: Brett Morris - Maloney snakes through some poor Maroons defence in the middle of the park....draws in Slater and Morris beats a nice last ditch attempt from Gagai to score in the corner..Maloney can't add the extras.

22mins: Frizell with a wayward pass as he ghosts into a gap..two unmarked on the outside and he floats a silly pass right into the hands of Boyd. Queensland survive.

21mins: Clinical play from the Blues...standard set..get to the 5th and Maloney puts in a great little grubber that Boyd runs over the dead ball line. Line dropout Queensland.

19mins: Nice set from the home side..making ground with more ease than the Maroons...Gagai does very well taking a high ball and Queensland look to bring he ball back, Mistake on halfway from Holmes and the Blues have the ball in good field position..and now they earn a penalkty for offside. Blues go on the attack.

17mins: Nothing comes of that set for the Blues..Queensland ruck it back..not making huge yards by any means and Cronk finds touch on the Blues 30m line.

15mins: Chambers nails Hayne with a shoulder/slightly high tackle..Penalty for the Blues.

13mins: TRY NEW SOUTH WALES: Jarryd Hayne - The Blues earned another ruck penalty..McGuire got oinged this time. Great ball movement leaves the defence in tatters...NSW have a 3-1 out wiode and Hayne crosses the line..bowling over Dane Gagai. Maloney nails the two.

11mins: Penalty now for the Blues..great defensive set earned them that. The Maroons under pressure and Napa is pinged in the tackle. NSW 20m out.

10mins: TRY QUEENSLAND - Valentine Holmes - Great movement form the Maroons backline...Thurston involved with a great cutout pass to Valentine Holmes....Holmes with fleet of foot on the sideline..it goes upstairs and it's all good..close but all-good. Maroons get the early lead. Thurston adds the two from out wide.

9mins: Queensland earn a penalty..Billy Slater taken off the ball by Aaron Woods. Maroons on attack.

7mins: Tedseco makes a mini-break up the middle - good set from NSW..Gagai will run back for Queensland from under his posts..Fast pace to the game.

6mins: Another superb defensive set from Queenland..restricting the Blues to 30m..

5mins: The Blus fire back with some great defence themselves...Hayne slides well on defence...Chambers took the ball at speed but is dragged out by the former 49er running back.

3mins: Great D from Queensland..The Blues lost their way abit towards the end of the set. Frizell got the ball on the last and got smashed by Gavin Cooper...and now the Maroons earn a penalty for holding at the tackle. The re-start on the Blues 30m line

2mins: Good start from the Blues..Woods made a nice run on the fourth tackle..great kick from Pierce and the Maroons will play it out from their own 20...Mistake from Valentine Holmes and NSW have an atacking scrum.

Kick Off: Queensland will get the game underway..here we go!

10.12pm: On the d-low..the singer of the anthem is butchering it..Big Time!

10.09: Cameron Smith leads his team out to a wonderful chorus of boos from the Blues fans..and there beloved side heads out soon after. Nice atmos ahead of kick-off.

10.07pm: Okay so players just about set to trundle out....Anthem to come and then it's game time. Ray Warren just doing his final pre-game sell.

959pm: We just got a little promo package on the return of Billy Slater...Great player but just not sure he can make the difference..it was up front that NSW donminated three-weeks ago..if anything the Maroons backs went okay for the most part.

9.53pm: We are still about 15mins away from the start of the game..officially it's a 10.05pm start but game-one got underway at 10.12pm.

9.51pm: Surprise, surprise..all the NSW pundits in Nines panel are picking the Blues and the Maroon's pundits are picking Queensland. In case your wondering - I am a Queensland fan - but I think they get well beaten tonight...hope i'm wrong though!

9.45pm: The Nine Network going through all their vomit enducing pre-match stuff...can we just get the game started already. FYI: it appears to be a lovely night in Sydney - also no late changes to report at this stage.
