America's Cup 2017: Live updates – Team New Zealand v Oracle Team USA – Day Three

Race Six wrap: Burling won the start but Oracle were quick off the line...The US leading around the course for the first three-quarters...but the Kiwis chased them down on the fifth leg but a slight wind shift for the Americans got them back in front..Burling saying "great to see them sail better after last weekend"...Nice. game on again in the morning.

Race Finish: Great race..Oracle looked down and out at when they lost the lead down the fifth leg but they gained huge time towards the end of the leg and the Kiwis mage a slight error to allow the US to take the lead..final margin of 11 seconds...so we are now at 4-1 with another two races tomorrow.

Mark 6: Oracle have this in the bag...round the mark in front by 17 seconds....Great race but Oracle just top too good this time around.

Mark 5: Oracle gained big time at the end of the led and rounded in front..150m lead and a poor move from Team NZ gives up more time..Oracle look super quick up wind..Downwind not so much..will see how this plays out.

Leg 5:  Wind shift gain for the US...but a poor move cost them the lead...they cross bow to bow and Oracle protest but no penalty..this is super close folks.

Leg 5: Team NZ covering Oracle's moves up wind...still super super close..Oracle make a slight gain but straight away Team NZ stretch out again...117m.

Leg 5: Oracle made a serious error on that last leg..the missed their angles heading into the mark and had to make an extra move..NZ have stretched the lead but it's still just one mistake in it...Team NZ out to 100m.

Mark 4: Wow!!! Massive gain late for the Kiwis..they ran down Oracle on that leg and went through the gate 4 seconds in front...they have a slender lead and Oracle look good upwind.

Leg 4: A small gain for Team NZ..they have found a nice 'mode' with a good wind shift but Oracle keep the lead at the cross but it's down to 100m.

Mark 3: Split at the mark....Oracle have a 12 second lead..they extended nicely in the last part of hat leg..lead out too 250m for the US boat.

Leg 3: It's close..one mistake from Oracle and the Kiwis will  get the lead back..Oracle maintain the 60m gap.

Leg 3: Second cross and Oracle have extended their lead....Thet are sailing the perfect race so far...Experts talking about a chabge to their rudders that is making a difference.

Leg 3: First cross of the race and Oracle maintain their lead...but it's close...No mistakes so from from Spithill and the Kiws will have to win this from behind.

Mark 2: 6 second lead for Oracle..if they can avoid mistakes they do look quick..they have steamed past NZ twice so far in this race..65m lead for the US. NZ tack away.

Mark 1: Oracle round the mark up by 2 seconds...They were quick off the line..Team NZ jibe away early..and they have lost the lead..it's neck and neck....

Start: Close start..Burling got in trouble with a minute tm go but the Kiwis recovered wo win the start again..just....but Oracle hit the from..quicker to the foils.

Race five wrap: Oracle looked faster..according to the experts anyway....but they made mistakes..copped a couple penalties and despite grabbing the lead on the third leg they lost it right back...Jimmy Spithill says post race that the backed off the final two legs with the race in the bag...'confident' we can get the job done in the second race of the day..... Second race in 20 minutes or so.

Finish: Team NZ cross the line.....a dominant win...Oracle miles behind..only just rounding the bottom mark....3 race wins away from glory..getting nervy. Final margin of victory is 2.-04 seconds..The US tapped out at the end and coasted down the last leg.

Mark 6: Kiwis steam down the finbal downward leg..Burling chilled as..this is in the bag for NZ...the race that is.

Mark 5: Oracle do through the gate 1.02 seconds behind

Leg 5: Team NZ stretching the lead again..they would need to make a mistake from here..or a major wind shift. thr ound the mark..Oracle 500m behind.

Leg 5: Oracle look a lot faster up-wind than they do downwind....making some nice gains at this point..they got a nice shift and the lead is down to 450m. Team NZ sailing their own race.

Mark 4: 57 second lead for NZ at the 4th mark....good times..although they made a few gains late on the leg..down to 500m.

Leg 3: Team NZ out too a 121m lead ogg the back of the penalty but there is absolutely no doubt their boat has goot more speed than last weekend.

Leg 3: NZ fight back nicely and regain the lead with a starboard tack...Oracle have picked up a penalty for getting too close to the Kiwis..Spithill is spewing.

Leg 3: Oracle making gains on the first downward leg and they have passed the Kiwis with a dial-down move..and they find a great wind shift and streak ahead by 60m.

Mark 2: Oracle follows Team NZ around the first mark..they are certainly looking a little faster..5 second lead for the Kiwi boat...boats split..52m lead for Team NZ

Mark 1: 3 second lead for the Kiwis at the first mark..already they are tracking a knot faster than the US..early days.

Start: Oracle was too early to the line and had to back off - not in time though and they have been pinged at the start..Off goaes Team NZ to the first mark..Burling won the start regardless.

Pre-Start: 1.29 - Commenators already notocing a change to the 'look' of the Oracle boat..it looks more 'slippery'
