An unconscious Greg Bird on receiving end of disgraceful act

When it comes to acts of poor sportsmanship on the rugby league field involving Greg Bird, he's normally the perpetrator.

However this time, he's on the receiving end.

Playing for Catalans in England's Super League, the former Blues and Kangaroos enforcer came together in a violent clash of heads with Leigh's backup half.

With cameras showing Bird was unconscious before he hit the ground, Leigh forward Jamie Acton then approached the prone player, picking him up one-handed before dumping him back to the ground.

Sent directly to the judiciary, Acton was handed a hefty nine-game suspension essentially ending his season.

The act is reminiscent of the punch that flawed former Warriors back Lance Hohaia in the Super League Final back in 2014.
