New footage shows fatal crash wasn't Venus Williams' fault

Police say a fatal crash involving Venus Williams was not the tennis star's fault.

A 78-year-old man was killed and his wife injured after the collision with the seven-time Grand Slam champion's car in Florida.

An initial police report said Williams was at fault for the two-car crash, but a review of CCTV footage has concluded she had the right of way.

The report said she was forced to brake to avoid crashing with the car in front of her, stopping her from clearing the intersection.

Then, as she began to move forwards, a second vehicle travelling in a different direction collided with her car.

"This updated information, based upon new evidence, is still under investigation," the Palm Beach Gardens police statement said.

The victim's family reportedly intend on taking action against Williams in court, claiming she is liable for the elderly man's death.

Williams was not arrested in connection with the crash.
