Julian Savea guides Wellington past Manawatu

Wellington have beaten Manawatu for the first time since 2013 to victory in their 41-29 defeat of ManawatuonSunday.

Dropped All Blacks winger Julian Savea was among the six Wellington tryscorers in their big win in Palmerston North.

The visitors led 26-22 at halftime and were three points down nearing the final quarter before the impressive Savea put them back in front. Centre Malo Tuitama made the result safe when crossing in the 79th minute.

Wellington will host Taranaki in their next match while the Turbos will face Tasman.
