New Zealand's Michael Venus has reached his second Grand Slam final of the year, securing a place in the mixed doubles final of the US Open on Saturday (NZ time).

In May, Venus and American Ryan Harrison won the French Open doubles title. This time he combined with Chan Hao-Ching from Taipei to make the mixed final in New York.

Seeded third, the New Zealand-Taipei combination defeated Anastasia Rodionova (Australia) and Austrian Oliver Marach in straight sets 6-1 7-6 (6) in one hour, 11 minutes in the semi-final on showcourt 17.

Throughout the match Venus was serving with plenty of confidence, including hitting a number of powerful aces at over 210km/h.

"It's awesome. To be in the second week of any major is great going. But to be here in the final of the mixed doubles is pretty cool," said Venus.

In the final Venus and Chan will play tennis legend Martina Hingis and Jamie Murray (the brother of Andy Murray).

The match will be played on Arthur Ashe court preceding the women's singles final on Saturday afternoon (New York time).

"It should be an awesome feeling, biggest court in tennis. So I'm looking forward to getting out there and seeing what it's all about."

For making the final Venus and Chan share US$150,000 in winners' prize money or US$70,000 as finalists.
