New Zealand's Ryan Fox fires five-under 65 at European Masters in Switzerland

Kiwi golfer Ryan Fox has produced a round to match the epic surroundings at the European Masters in Switzerland.

Fox fired an opening round five-under 65 to be in a share of fourth place, in his return to the European Tour.

The 30-year-old Aucklander's in awe of the scenery in the mountain district of Crans Montana which reminds him of Queenstown and the alpine resorts back home.

"We've got some pretty good golf courses in New Zealand views wise, and this rivals any of them.

"All the guys say it's one of the best weeks of the year, if not the best. And I certainly agree with them so far."

Fox is one shot behind the leading trio of Miguel Angel Jimenez (Spain), Tyrrell Hatton (England) and Scott Hend (Australia).
