Unwanted All Blacks winger Julian Savea has denied the rumours linking him to a short-term deal with England Premiership club, Harlequins.

The Rugby Paper is reporting Harlequins is trying to lure the 27-year-old to the club on a deal which would run through until the beginning of the 2018 Super Rugby season.

However, Savea and his partner have both tweeted saying the rumours are not true, Savea calling it 'fake news.'

The Quins have expressed interest in bringing Savea on board due as Marland Yarde is expected to be released by the club.

If Savea is to join Harlequins, the deal will be announced after he plays for the Barbarians against the All Blacks on Sunday (NZ time).

The news comes after All Blacks selector Grant Fox told RadioLIVE that Savea 'needs a big offseason' to try to get back in the national side.

New Zealand players Matt Luamanu and Francis Saili currently play for the London based club.
