Former Wallaby Greg Martin is confident Saturday's win against the All Blacks will bring back the fans to Australian rugby.

The game may have been just a dead rubber, but the result has Martin looking at the bigger picture and he's hopeful the game in Australia will benefit, as it continues its fight against the country's other sporting codes.

Speaking to Andrew Gourdie on RadioLIVE, Martin expressed his delight at seeing some of the Wallaby's supporters return to the fold.

"That win last night has immediately re-energised the fringe members," he said.

"We got so many people who want to love the Wallabies and that win last night against you guys... that's all that matters to us, is beating the All Blacks, and we haven't for so long."

Martin also stressed the significance of the Wallabies' attacking mind-set they have adopted this year, crediting coach Michael Cheika with their approach.

"It's so important and we're now playing with some style, and we're also playing some winning rugby," he said.

"Cheika played for a club in Sydney called Randwick who are known from the 1920's for running rugby... So many players who have gone on to the Wallabies have played there, and their philosophy since 1928 was never kick the ball.

"You'll notice the Wallabies rarely kick it unless they have to now. They are determined to play with style."

Martin is hopeful that the Wallabies have now figured out the gist of their run-on side, having gone through a period when there were frequent changes within the squads.

"That's three Tests in a row we've had the same team. We've been through 35, 36 players this year for the Wallabies, 12 guys have made their debut, that's where we're at," Martin said.

"We are rebuilding and we've finally found a team. We've got something to build on, there's a bit of future for Australian rugby, thank goodness."
