The Crooked Feed: Sam Cane overseeing All Blacks forwards development period

The All Blacks selectors have had to dig deep into the forward depth bank in 2017 as injuries have curtailed the season for a number of first-choice starters.

Joe Moody, Dane Coles, and Owen Franks have all missed the majority of the international season while Brodie Retallick, Jerome Kaino have missed time for personal reasons.

With that number of players on the shelf, the All Blacks forward pack has been youthful  in experience in 2017 with Kane Hames, Codie Taylor and Nepo Laulala leading the front row.

Flanker Sam Cane has had to step up his leadership role as he continues to stamp his mark on the No. 7 jersey.

Ross Karl caught up with openside flanker Sam Cane about the changes in the forward pack and what to expect from a Scotland side which is missing 13 players due to injury at Murrayfield.
