Steven Adams has helped the Thunder to a 148-124 demolition of the LeBron James-lead Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday (NZT).

The Kiwi centre posted a gaudy double-double of 25 points and 10 rebounds on a near-flawless 12 of 13 shooting while anchoring his side's defensive effort, turning in the best performance of his breakthrough campaign to date.

The 24-year-old came out firing with 10 first quarter points as the visiting Thunder shot to an emphatic 43-24 early lead and scarcely looked back.

Cavaliers point guard Isaiah Thomas spearheaded a brief second quarter run for the Cavaliers to pull the lead back to within 15 points before the four-pronged OKC offensive juggernaut kicked back into gear and extended the contest out of reach.

Guard Paul George lead the way with 36 points, including 25 in the first half, while Carmelo Anthony poured in 29 and pulled down 10 rebounds.

Talisman Russell Westbrook conducted proceedings in expert fashion, dishing a monster 20 assists to go with 23 points of his own as the Thunder posted their largest total in franchise history.

The Thunder now return to Oklahoma City where they'll take on the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday.
