  • 23/02/2018

Newshub first met Nico Porteous when he was 14-years-old in the hills of Cardrona back in August 2016.

At the time, he had just become the youngest skier in the world to ever land a Triple Cork 1440 - a trick you'll now only see attempted by some of the best winter sport athletes in the world.

Fast-forward two years and Porteous is an Olympic bronze medallist after posting a score of 94.8 in the men's freestyle halfpipe ski final.

He is the third ever New Zealander and first male to win a medal at the Winter Olympics.
