Winter Olympics: Kiwi freeskiers Nico Porteous, Beau-James and Byron Wells advance to finals

Kiwi freeskiing brothers Beau-James and Byron Wells will join Nico Porteous in the Olympic halfpipe finals in Pyeongchang.

The Wanaka siblings both finished in the top five following their two qualifying runs on Tuesday (NZT), while Porteous snuck inside the group of advancing 12 competitors with his final run.

Byron Wells, 25, claimed fourth with a high score of 88.6, while younger brother Beau-James, 22, finished fifth with an 86.2, sealing their spots in the final.

Sixteen-year-old Porteous squeezed into 11th place with a score of 72.8.

Older brother Miguel Porteous,18, missed out on qualification, finished in 17th position.

The final is scheduled to take place on Thursday at about 6:30pm.
