The Bus is back.

Julian Savea has earned a spot in Steve Hansen's 23 player camp which begins in Auckland on Tuesday.

The barnstorming winger found himself on the outer of the selector's thoughts in the latter part of the 2017 season, missing the end-of-year tour.

The squad is strictly North Island players only, following last week's South Island iteration.

Injured trio Kane Hames, Nepo Laulala, Nehe Milner-Skudder will attend while halfbacks Brad Weber and Augustine Pulu have been overlooked.

The All Blacks will assemble in Auckland for Tuesday only, before returning to their respective Super Rugby sides.

All Blacks North island foundation camp squad:

Blues: Ofa Tu'ungafasi, Patrick Tuipulotu, Akira Ioane, Rieko Ioane, Sonny Bill Williams, Matt Duffie.

Chiefs: Kane Hames, Nepo Laulala, Brodie Retallick, Sam Cane, Damian McKenzie, Anton Lienert-Brown, Nathan Harris.

Hurricanes: Jeff To'omaga-Allen, Dane Coles, Vaea Fifita, Ardie Savea, TJ Perenara, Beauden Barrett, Ngani Laumape, Julian Savea, Nehe Milner-Skudder, Jordie Barrett.
