The Crusaders will welcome back the services of All Blacks flanker Matt Todd when they take on the Hurricanes on Saturday night.

The vice-captain has made a hasty recovery from the thumb injury in round one which saw him miss the match against the Stormers last weekend, and will reclaim his No. 7 jersey at Westpac Stadium.

"The surgeon was happy enough for him - if he could function well, it wouldn't make it any worse," Robertson told media.

In the other forwards adjustment, Heiden Bidwell-Curtis will start on the opposite side of the scrum as Todd.

Mitchell Hunt steps into first-five for the injured Richie Mo'unga, with Mike Delaney setpping in as back-up from the bench.

"He's really calm, really clear, got a good manner and deals with pressure," Roberston said of Hunt.

Kick off is scheduled for 7:35pm on Saturday.
