Parker vs Joshua: Anthony Joshua shies away from Joseph Parker during intense staredown

If staredowns are anything to go by, Sunday's (NZT) world title unification bout between Joseph Parker and Anthony Joshua should be a classic.

The two heavyweights met face-to-face after their final pre-fight press conference on Wednesday (NZT) and while the Kiwi was the one gazing up at his taller opponent, Joshua was the first to shy away from the encounter.

Just days away from their historic clash in Cardiff, the tension has clearly increased to another level, with both talking up their chances of victory to assembled media in London.

"I'm going to beat him, but I haven't decided how I'm going to beat him yet," said Parker. "I don't know if it's a knockout, or if it's points or decision - we'll see how I feel on fight night."

Joshua was equally bullish, but ensured he was ready to endure whatever was necessary to secure a win.

"I'm definitely preparing for a 12-round fight, 110 percent, which isn't a problem, going the distance" said Joshua.

"But let's say I've got 20 quid in my pocket - I believe I'll knock Joseph Parker out, for sure."

The pair will face each other again at the official weigh-in on Saturday morning (NZ time) - the eve of the fight.
