Toulouse rugby president Didier Lacroix has confirmed All Blacks loose forward Jerome Kaino has signed with the French club.

The 34-year-old Kaino will link up with the Southern France club on a two-year deal at the end of the Super Rugby season.

Kaino announced on Wednesday that he was retiring from the national team and would head to a French club at the end of the Blues' Super Rugby campaign.

Lacroix said Kaino is a massive signing for the club.

"Kaino is someone who will bring his experience, his high standards, his willingness to work, to grow his teammates and help the club's play evolve.

"There are players like that, I do not think there are 10 on the planet but he is one of them.

Kaino has spent most of his career with the Blues, barring a three-year stint in Japan, and he has made 81 appearances for the All Blacks.

Former All Blacks and Blues prop Charlie Faumuina is currently contracted at Toulouse.
