Steven Adams has played his part in Oklahoma City Thunder's 116-108 win over the Utah Jazz in the opening game of their Western Conference playoff series.

The Kiwi big man dropped 12 points to go with seven rebounds and three assists.

OKC's two big stars, Paul George (36) and Russell Westbrook (29), combined for more than half their sides' points, with George dropping six three-pointers in his first playoff appearance for Oklahoma.

The Jazz managed to hold the Thunder close in the first quarter, as the two sides exchanged bucket for bucket, heading to the first break tied at 25-25.

OKC edged away in the next 24 minutes, taking a nine-point lead into the final frame.

Utah stepped up on offence in the fourth quarter, dropping 36 points, but they couldn't contain Westbrook and the Thunder, as they scored 35 themselves.

The series stays at Oklahoma for Game Two in three days.

Elsewhere, the Indiana Pacers have shocked LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, scoring a upset 98-80 road win in the Eastern Conference.
