Super Rugby: Tana Umaga feeling the Blues after shock loss to Jaguares in Auckland

Frustrated, disappointed, miffed.

Those are the words which can be used to describe how Tana Umaga was feeling after the Blues' 20-13 loss to the Jaguares on Saturday night.

The Argentinian side created history at Eden Park by beating a New Zealand team for the first time, while the Blues remained winless at home this season.

The home side had led 13-5 at halftime after an intense 40 minutes, but the same couldn't be said in the second as the Jaguares ran in two tries and kicked a penalty goal to secure the famous win.

"We felt we had done enough going into the wind and played good into-the-wind rugby and then we had another plan when we turned around with it," a disappointed Tana Umaga said. "But we failed to execute.

"We had to park that first 40. It was good, we did some good things, and now we know it changes with the wind. We've got to get to the bottom of that."

The Blues are missing more than 15 players due to injury, and that has forced them to play a number of young and inexperienced players this season.

Umaga refused to point fingers at individuals for the team's struggles.

"It's up to everyone to understand the plan. There are key people that need to make those decisions, and I don't believe they did, and probably in terms of everyone understanding that plan and just backing it," he said.

"Those players know who they are, we all know it's part of the position they choose to play.

"We know we are underperforming as a whole so that is a challenge and we live for the challenge. We are not getting it on the right on the field at the moment, but we are not far away."

The Blues travel to Brookvale Oval in Northern Sydney to face the Waratahs in their next match.

Australian Super Rugby teams have lost their last 37 matches to New Zealand franchises, and if the Blues continue to play poorly, that run will likely end on Saturday night.
