Former UFC superstar Ronda Rousey has made her professional wrestling debut, leaving fans craving for more.

Rousey showed tremendous timing, physicality, finess and athleticism in 20 minutes that left the 78,000-plus at the Superdome in New Orleans on the edge of their seats.

Rousey and fellow former Olympian Kurt Angle topped WWE on-screen/off-screen executives Triple H and wife Stephanie McMahon.

The former UFC women's bantamweight champion - a lifelong wrestling fan - entered the ring wearing a tribute to her idol, the late Rowdy Roddy Piper.

Rousey seemed to enjoy her moment, smiling on her way down the ramp with Piper'e signature black jacket and sporting a really cool kilt-type dress.

The former Olympic bronze medallist pulled off one of the moments of the night when she hoisted Triple H onto her shoulders, before it was broken up by McMahon.

Arguably the biggest roar of the near seven-hour show came when Rousey locked McMahon in an arm bar to get the win.

Far from being the finished article, Rousey still has work to do on her ring promo and questions will still hang over her, until she competes in a singles match.

But the night was an overwhelming sucess for Rousey and the WWE, which paid some serious cash to bring her over from MMA.
