Golf: Thomas Pieters snaps club over his neck in anger

  • 26/05/2018

Belgium golfer Thomas Pieters snapped his club over his neck after a woeful shot at the European Tour PGA Championship on Friday (Saturday NZ time).

His moment of madness came during an even-par round at Wentworth, which saw him miss the cut by one shot after totalling three-over for his first two rounds.

After hitting a shot he didn't like, he merely took his nine-iron and snapped it like a twig.

This is not the first time the 26-year-old has broken one of his clubs, with previous incidents at the 2016 British Open and the 2017 French Open.

Kiwi Ryan Fox is also competing in the event, and he just made the cut - currently tied for 56th on one-under.

Northern Irishman Rory Mcilroy is leading after two rounds on 12-under.
