The search and rescue of a stray cat believed to be located in a central Auckland cemetery will continue this morning.
It comes after American musician Ryan Adams – who is in the country for two shows – tweeted a photo of the black and white feline on Monday night, appealing for someone to help it.
Twitter user Rob Isaac, who lives nearby, responded to Adams' appeal, but his attempts to rescue the cat were ultimately unsuccessful.
He returned to the cemetery last night with a team, a trap, and some food – tuna and KFC.
There were several close calls, but the rescue mission was called off for the night when the cat was scared off by kids running and shouting through the cemetery.
