There's a mad prowler on the loose in a small New York state town which has residents running scared.
The jet-black feline doesn't look ferocious, but it's been attacking animals and humans in Pearl River.
"It's been like lockdown. I feel bad for the kids, they're afraid to go out," local Chris McKiernan, who had a run-in with the cat on July 4, told CBS News.
"He came out of nowhere," says Joe Saldono. "It was one o'clock in the morning, and all of a sudden he just leaped at me and I kicked him and he came again."
The next day Mr Saldono and his family fled the street to stay with a relative in Brooklyn.
Local police say they're looking for the cat to have it tested for rabies.
At least one victim, who was bitten and scratched, has started rabies injections.
