This week has been full of 'firsts' in news - the first close-up pictures of Pluto, the first transgender woman to win an Arthur Ashe Courage Award and the first time an American president has visited a federal prison.

Alongside that has been the sombre – as Greece exploded into riots – and the bizarre – with a Mexican drug lord concocting an elaborate tunnel to undertake a daring prison escape.
