Would you go swimming in a totally transparent swimming pool that is suspended 35 metres up between two apartment buildings?

The 25-metre long "sky pool" is set to become a reality in late 2018 as part of a new development in London, The Guardian reports.

The newspaper says residents of the buildings will be able to swim in the pool, with 20cm of glass between them and the outside world. Developers say it will be the first of its kind.

"My vision for the sky pool stemmed from a desire to push the boundaries in the capability of construction and engineering, I wanted to do something that had never been done before," Ballymore boss Sean Mulryan told The Guardian.

"The experience of the pool will be truly unique, it will feel like floating through the air in central London."
