Shark attack victim saved by friend

Pressure is mounting in Australia tonight for a shark cull on the northern New South Wales coast after another attack at the weekend.

A man saved his best mate, dragging him ashore after the mauling in the eighth attack in as many months.

It's some of the most popular coastline in Australia, not just for surfers and sunbathers, but for great whites too.

Over the weekend a body boarder was attacked at Lighthouse Beach.

His friend is now being called a hero after saving him while the 3m shark continued to circle.

"His mate did pull him to shore and he was assisting him the whole time, and it's a great comradery between friends there," says lifeguard Ryan Rosenbaum.
