Jared Fogle, who shot to fame as the formerly obese spokesperson for sandwich franchise Subway, is expected to plead guilty to child porn charges.

CNN and Fox59 report law enforcement officials have secured a plea deal with Fogle, 37, who was arrested in July after a raid on his home in Zionsville, Indiana. Several computers and DVDs were seized, but no charges have yet been publicly announced according to ABC7.

Fogle's arrest came only a few months after the arrest of Russell Taylor, former director of Fogle's charity the Jared Foundation. At Taylor's house, investigators say they found "a cache of sexually explicit photos and videos Taylor allegedly produced by secretly filming minor children".

At the time, Fogle said he was "shocked" by the allegations and the foundation cut all ties with Taylor. Taylor, facing eight felony charges relating to the material, later tried to commit suicide while in prison, reports Fox59.

Subway cut its ties with Fogle after his arrest in July, and said it had "no further comment" on the latest developments.

Fogle first appeared in an advertisement for Subway on January 1, 2000. He allegedly lost 111kg in one year by sticking to a diet of Subway sandwiches.

The US attorney's office will hold a press conference tomorrow (US time).
