Pop sisters The Veronicas gave a rousing speech at a marriage equality rally in their native Australia over the weekend.

Jess and Lisa Origliasso took to the stage at the event in Brisbane on Saturday to urge the country's Prime Minister Tony Abbott to support same-sex unions and back parliament's upcoming vote on legalising gay marriage.

In the speech, the sisters declared, "We've just arrived back from the USA where same sex marriage has been legalised in all 50 states. The example set by government is so powerful and so influential, and that's why we're here today. Prime Minster Tony Abbott, the conversation for marriage equality is no longer a question of if but now a question of when. Marriage equality is inevitable!"
