For over half a century, the Aston Martin has been a beacon for refinement and class, which tends to fit quite nicely with the British brand's number one ambassador – James Bond.

This year, to celebrate the release of the of the newest Bond instalment, Spectre, and over 50 years of collaboration with the world's most famous spy, the luxury motoring brand is releasing a limited edition car.

There will be just 150 DB9 GT Bond Edition vehicles released worldwide, and one lucky New Zealander will get to drive away in one.

Building on the highly successful DB9 GT, the new model will have subtle stylistic changes inside and out to make its driver feel as though they too could work for the MI6.

Featuring a 6.0 litre V-12 engine, the car is capable of reaching over 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 294km/h.

Both internally and externally, a James Bond theme has been incorporated into the design with a unique Spectre themed silver paint, sterling silver Aston Martin badges on both the front and rear of the vehicle and discreet '007 Bond Edition' on the outside on the exterior bodywork.

The powerhouse vehicle will also sport elegant 20-inch black diamond wheels, bright aluminium bonnet vents, carbon fibre front splitter and rear diffuser and grey brake callipers.

But if that isn't enough to make you feel like 007 then maybe some of the accessories will. The vehicle will also come with an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m James Bond Limited Edition watch complete with a unique Aston Martin strap, and a finely-crafted 21 inch (53.34 cm) Globe-Trotter trolley case finished with an embossed leather luggage tag.

The Vehicle will be sold for around $400,000 and there are already two Kiwis vying to be the lucky purchaser.

The DB9 Bond GT will reportedly be presented to that owner at the NZ premiere of Spectre.
