Protesters have taken to the streets outside a Baltimore courthouse, where six police officers are facing charges over a young black man's death.

Freddie Gray died after suffering a spinal injury while in custody of the Baltimore police.

Today, a judge dismissed a defence motion to dismiss the charges against the officers. The trial begins next month.

The case sparked rioting in the city in April.
