They came for fish, but what they got were kittens.
Two Alabama men have given a new meaning to the term "cat fishing" after scooping up two small kittens from a river and putting them into their boat.
They couldn't believe what they were seeing as one of the ginger kittens swam up to the vessel, followed shortly by another.
The men had been on a fishing trip on the Warrior River in Jefferson County when the felines came swimming toward them.
It is unclear where they had come from or why they cat-paddled towards the boat, but solid ground doesn't seem too far away from the men.
The pair were surprised by the sight, as they pulled the cats from the water.
"That's about the craziest thing I've ever seen," said one of the men.
The cats seemed calm as they shook off the water.
