Stuart Lancaster has made what could be his last team selection as England coach, and it is as controversial as his first at the Rugby World Cup.

After the surprise inclusion of Sam Burgess, the midfielder has been dumped for Saturday's final pool match against Uruguay.

But Lancaster has refused to admit 'the Burgess experiment' was a mistake.

"If you pick a player who's not playing in his club position, you get criticised," he says. "If you don't pick him, you get criticised."

Burgess is one of nine changes to the side that will take on Uruguay as they try to salvage some pride after their premature exit.

The unwanted England centre will now return to club rugby – ironically, as Bath's blindside flanker – despite rumours of a return to rugby league.
